9. The diagram below shows a sketch of the curve \(C _ { 1 }\) with equation \(y = - x ^ { 2 } + \pi x + 1\) and a sketch of the curve \(C _ { 2 }\) with equation \(y = \cos 2 x\). The curves intersect at the points where \(x = 0\) and \(x = \pi\).
